Our 2 well-kept secret dishes

Our best secrets, revealed…
Here’s a little secret uncovered: the real gems of the restaurant are not always found in the menu. They are kept well hidden and are usually revealed to our regulars. But hey, if you’ve read this far, be sure to let me know if you are interested to try these delightful dishes!
1. Hokkien Mee

The first of our “off the board” gems is the hokkien mee, which has become a regular with our regulars. This is because we cook it the traditional way without the use of thickeners. The noodles are braised in the stock until the gravy thickens. And although it is a bit more laborious, the both fragrant and tongue tantalizing dish makes our efforts worth it! A reviewer has even mentioned that ‘it is easily the best KL hokkien mee this side of the causeway’.
2. White Braised Pork

The second “off the board” delicacy is the white braised pork. While it may not look physically appealing, it has been well received by many of our regulars. Served in a sauce that is a mix of garlic and vinegar, the pork is braised until it is sublimely smooth and tender. A simple dish, but ultimately very satisfying!
I’ll be talking about our famous kaya in the next post, so be sure to watch out for that! 🙂
